One of the biggest expenses that someone sees in their budget is the grocery bill. Many families though have learned how to shop frugally and have reaped the rewards for their efforts. It may take a bit more time, but in the end the results can be huge savings on grocery bills.

Make A List And Check It Twice

The first thing you should do, even before getting to the grocery store, is to make a list. If making a list could save you $5 a week, imagine the savings you would see over a one year period. It’s important to make a list and stick to it. Winging it is not a good idea as you’ll end up spending more than you mean to.

Lists of all kinds help people to be productive and save time. When in the grocery store it will help you to remain focused on exactly what you need, so that you don’t end up buying a lot of impulse items. Make the list when you have at least 1/2 hour of time during the week and only deviate from the list if there are specials that could mean extra savings.

Don’t Shop With Children

Before you go shopping find someone to look after the kids. Trade with a neighbor so that it doesn’t cost you anything. Leaving home without the kids can also lead to huge savings as they will not be asking for every favorite item they see. Also there is nothing worse than trying to shop with a child that has become impatient or tired. It can be very distracting and you can end up not taking the needed time to check different prices on different items.

Customer Loyalty Programs

Today, many stores have what is known as “Customer Loyalty Programs.” If you shop at the same store all the time, make sure you check to see if your supermarket is one of them. These are designed to get repeat business and the savings can range from “members only” prices, special hours for members and double coupon days. Grocery store spending can even be linked to a college savings account. Look at the website UPromise to see exactly what they offer.

Coupons

If you are not using coupons to their full potential then you are throwing money away. Clipping coupons can result in large savings, especially on double coupon days. Keep them organized in a small box and match them up with in-store savings for even more benefits. Some people have reduced their grocery bills by as much as 40% simply by using coupons. Be sure to check out the website “The Grocery Game” for even more savings and ideas.

Don’t Shop When You Are Hungry

One of the biggest mistakes people make is shopping when they are hungry. It’s a proven fact that you are more likely to pick up things you don’t need because you are hungry. Sweets are a big temptation and they are some of the most overpriced items in the store.

Where Are The Best Deals

Many companies pay a premium to have their products placed at eye level. People are more likely to grab it than they are to look higher up or lower when often the best bargains can be found. These alternative products can lead to big savings over a one year period and all you need to do is to make sure you check all the shelves and not just the ones at eye level.

Big Brand Names Mean More Money

Those big brand names often are not the best buy or the best tasting product. Through advertising they convince people they are the best but often generic is just as good if not better. Using your coupons with a different brand can help you to save and discover products you’ve never tried before.

Buy Generic Products

Many shoppers do not realize that those generic products they are not buying are often made by the same company that sells the name brand product. Their ingredients are almost identical and only the outside is different. I first realized this when I bought coffee at Costco. The Kirkland name coffee is made by Starbucks. I realized very large savings by using the store brand and yet still get the same flavor I love. Generic products are everywhere now, from food to detergents. Be sure to check them out the next time you are at the store.

Baby showers have long been considered customary. Hardly a child is born nowadays that isn’t first welcomed into the family by a shower, and usually before the birth takes place.

Baby showers also have a more practical application than just being a good reason for a celebration. Very often new parents don’t have the supplies necessary for a new child. A shower will provide some very needed items such as strollers, clothes, and diapers.

But baby showers take a huge amount of planning and can sometimes seem to be a daunting task. From choosing the guests and sending out invitations to planning the food, there’s a lot to think about.

Of these, what food to serve is the biggest decision that has to be made. Here are some things to keep in mind.

1. Consider the food you will serve when you choose the time for the party. For example, a shower that is in the evening usually requires a sit-down meal. But during the early afternoon, finger food and dessert (there always has to be dessert!) will suffice.

2. Also keep the amount of food needed in the back of your mind when making out the guest lists. Snacks for 15 are a lot easier to prepare than food for 40 or more.

3. If your baby shower has a theme, try to create food that matches it. You can have a custom-made cake, for example, that has a nursery rhyme character on it.

4. Try to serve the food in a creative way. One shower I went to, for example, had a cake shaped like a basket which was filled with strawberries.

5. Don’t forget to decorate the food table. Candles often create a homey atmosphere. One shower I went to in October had the table decorated with hollowed-out baby pumpkins containing tea light candles. You can also scatter a bit of confetti on the tablecloth for an extra festive touch.

6. To win extra points with the parents-to-be, let them give their input as to their favorite food or their dislikes.

7. Don’t forget to provide a large trash barrel if using disposable plates and cups. And consider having an easy way for allowing your guests to recycle.

By providing a spread that is appealing to both the taste and sight, you’ll contribute to the warm and festive atmosphere that your baby shower should be, and give the parents-to-be a memory that will last them for years to come.

Between two and five years, children have continued episodes of loss of appetite, which creates a big concern for parents. How do you know when and when disease whim?

It is common to see parents tested all sorts’ games, tricks, gifts, to make children eat and eat well, and despite all their efforts no effect strategy emerged. In addition, adults are destabilized a bit to see the little kids eat very well one day but the other does not want to eat. In addition to the above, it sometimes seems to go too long without food and this reinforces the anxiety.

However, there must be very careful in how we face this situation, as the concern of the family can lead to inappropriate feeding attitudes and disciplinary action that may aggravate the rejection by the food.

What happens in children two to five years?

Usually, the children will suffer normal “physiological reluctantly” characteristic of the age, which ignore the parents and so tormented with the sight of their small will not eat anything.

Actually, very few cases where it is a real disease that causes loss of appetite, as well as which is accompanied by other symptoms, is a permanent behavior, not sporadic as often happens in children two to five years.

Most children who refuse to eat have an appetite fit for his age and growth rate. During these ages, the normal standard is that children grow between 1 and 2 kilos per year, unlike when they were in their first year. As a result, they now need less nutritional requirements and feel less hungry.

At these ages, children are more interested in the world that surrounds them for food. They are discovering new things, their only activity is play and adventure, therefore, food takes away valuable time favorite activity. Likewise, they are still not aware that the human body needs food for its healthy development, and therefore do not give the importance it requires. Adults will be responsible for inculcating those habits in language appropriate to their level of understanding.

Therefore, forced to eat a certain food can cause serious consequences, leaving a precedent in the food and making this experience to become negative and unpleasant. Moreover, excessive pressure can also lead to rejection of food.

Tips for Parents

For the children, their main role model is the family. The example of his parents and siblings is crucial for them to acquire good eating habits. If small they see their parents have a bad attitude towards food, or refuse any food, they will imitate their behavior. So the first thing to do is observe and correct any errors.

Establish schedules that allow children to have a routine and organize their mealtimes. It is important that among the three main meals have small nutritious snacks like fruit or milk. Do not give those sweets or junk food, much less before meals.

The key is for parents to show patience, discipline and determination. Making meals in times of struggles, struggles and prayers, all that rejection is a major cause for the child to food. Call the lunch is a little friendly, cheerful and pleasant.

It is recommended not to let children watch TV or play while eating, then faded to finish their primary objective. Adequately measure the quantities of food, not be served because of only abundantly see, feel and finish filling refute it.

Turn food into punishment, pleading, bribes and rewards, is a mistake that should not make by the parents. Children will denial by these incorrect feeding techniques.

Everything goes through the eyes, different colors and shapes are very encouraging. Put your imagination to make recipes tasty and appealing to the eye. In addition, the smell, the variety of food, company and atmosphere created around food are also factors.
It is very good tactic, invite children to participate in the preparation of meals, they will have fun and want to eat what resulted from his work.
Finally, be very much commend and congratulate the child when feeding, they need that recognition when his behavior is appropriate.

Commonly baby’s known with breath that is sweet and pleasant. However, as parents we know this is not always true because babies can and do have bad breath. Yes, hundreds of mothers have reported this condition, and many of them have felt a little embarrassed about how bad breath can smell their baby.

The smell of your baby’s mouth is something that should not be left unattended or ignored. Depending on the impurities in the breath, can be a serious infection. This could be a strep throat or mouth, or thebabies sinusitis can cause bad breath. So, if you have noticed frequent smelly breath, consult with your doctor to identify the cause. Ask your child’s doctor to check the gums and teeth of your child, and if doctors find certain problems related to your baby’s breath, and then also see your dentist.

Baby bad breath can also be a result of mouth breathing versus nose breathing. Mouth breathing usually occurs soon after the baby is sleeping. This really is a condition in which the muscles relax in baby’s mouth and saliva production drops, leaving the mouth dry. After a dry mouth, bacteria tend to grow. The longer the period of the baby slept, the higher the number of bacteria in the baby’s mouth increases. This is actually one of the reasons that babies and adults all have what is called morning breath.

So to prevent this in the future, it is best to clean your baby’s mouth the first time in the morning. As your child gets older, you can teach the proper way to brush teeth, and you can even teach them how to clean the tongue to remove any bad breath.

Finally, your baby may develop bad breath if he sucks his thumb. Thumb will tend to dry up, creating an ideal environment for odor-causing bacteria to grow and develop. This also applies when you use a baby sucking a pacifier or a toy or blanket. What is important for you to realize is thatbabies bad breath can be made more powerful if it happens that the object your child has been repeatedly exposed to suck the saliva of their mouths or bacteria.

To control the growth of bacteria in your mouth, make sure that your child’s hands washed properly. Also, never let her suck toys, un-sterilized pacifier, or other things like that. If you want him to play with a pacifier, make sure that you have sterilized it. Finally, try to encourage your child to stop sucking habit if you can. Of course, that may seem easier said than done, but you have to keep trying.
